4.3 chevy

I need to know if i can put a chevy 4.3 vin code z into a 1996 gmc jimmy that had a 4.3 vin code w ?

You can do anything... but can you do it easily? That is the question. I think the answer is you can do it but since the fuel injection is totally different as might be many of the sensors (maybe different types and/or locations) you would probably need to replace the electrical harness....and maybe replace or reprogram the computer... maybe some other stuff. Someone here has no doubt been there and done that and should be able to give more specific advice:
