Question 92 brand am stalls

I have a 92 Grand Am that stalls. But it only does it after you drive it aout 20 or 25miles or until it worms up and it only stalls when you have it in gear. It will sit there and idle all day long weather its hot or cold and i was just wondering what would be causeing it to do this? Any ideas please let me know

Thanks

Murdock

Re: 92 brand am stalls

Hi Mmurdock!!

It seems you have the common TCC failure. The Torque Converter Clutch solenoid is a common failure that is easily cured if you don't mind pulling the pan on your tranny. In the early stages of failure the symptoms only present themselves when the tranny comes up to operating temperatures.
