Burnt Clutch on a 1999 Prelude
Hi, i've have a 1999 Honda Prelude in storage for a month because the release bearing went straight through the pressure plate and into the clutch disc. I was just wondering if anyone's been through this problem before because i've taken the tranny apart from engine, but most bolts and nuts are really glued on to the engine and i don't want to do more than i have to on this car cuz i've already put at least 30 hrs. just prying the tranny apart from the engine. But i already ordered the clutch kit but just don't know how to pry off the bolts off the flywheel and pressure plate and how to put the half shafts back on the suspention its kicking my ***.

Re: Burnt Clutch on a 1999 Prelude
I know what you mean i did it to mine and had a hard time too. First thing before you order the clutch kit is make sure it comes with an alignment tool, next you are going to get a pilot bearing, you wont need it cause you dont have on ein your car if it is a 2.2(H22) engine. The seal will be fine you are going to have to get on it to open it up but it will be fine. just make sure you dont loose any of the bolts. check the spring on the throwout bearing it may need to be replaced as well. I would sya to use royal purple tanny fluid it is high priced but well worth it.
