windshield washer does not squirt fluid

I was donated a 1991 chevy astro van and told that the wipers did not work but I tried the wipers and they did work but what did not work was the washer fluid does not squirt out. What could be possible causes? Thanks!

Is there washer fluid in the container? Does the washer pump have power? Does the pump work if it has power? The lines that carry the fluid to the windshield could be clogged, or broken.

when you use the washer,do you hear the pump running? Try it with the engine off,to hear better. If it is making a high pitched whine,that usually indicates the pump is working. Check under the vehicle for a washer fluid leak after you run the pump. If it is there,you may have a loose or broken washer hose between the pump and nozzles. If the pump sounds ok,but you see no fluid,try to remove one of the lines at the nozzle and run the pump again.if you get fluid then,the nozzle could be clogged. hope this gives you something to start with.

where do u liveeee? if in a cold climate the little bit of fluid in the lines could be frozen? even if the fluid in resivor isnt frozen the little bit in the lines could be? line could be disconnected? resivor could be cracked? out of fluid? bad or weak pump motor? clog could be resivor or lines? corison on electrical lines to run pump motor? all sorts of things
