Re: 1990 toyota camry

Hi ace,

I don't think many of the grease-monkeys visit this sub-forum very often.

Try here:

I'm going to say that the sending unit in the gas tank has failed. Maybe others can offer more info at the link I provided.

Re: 1990 toyota camry - dead gas gauge

Thanks MT.... I find a few stragglers once in a while.

I see you are into avaition.... my second passion with history!! My first is naval history and my father's ship might not be very far from you.... BB55... the USS North Carolina. The USS Washington (BB56) the sister ship (only 2 in that class) no longer exists.

I haven't visited the North Carolina but did take him (father) to see another ship he served aboard. Talk about a long flight!! Took my parents to Oahu 2 yrs ago to visit Pearl Harbor and see BB63, the USS Missouri. The very last battleship ever commisioned by the USN. The USS Wisconsin is BB64 but was commisioned 5-6 weeks earlier than the Missouri. All 4 Iowa class ships still survive today, with the USS Iowa waiting placement as a museum. Good history!!

Sorry to rattle on and omission of this post is understandable due to irrelevance.

Re: 1990 toyota camry - dead gas gauge

your pick up sensor in the tank is bad. I think it is a piece of styrofoam floting around that tells how much fuel is in the tank. Run the car out of gas, and drop the tank.
