Re: Advice on a 1996 Ford 1.25i Zetec 16v.

Hiya daz,

How's the little one?? Getting any sleep??

I had to go to a UK site for this info:

http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/timing-b...Recordset1=560

Seems there are 2 different belts and you will need to know the engine code to get the correct one.

You might be at the limit with the timing belt... I think most of them last about 80K miles. I'm surprised you listed miles instead of kilometers.... thought all distances on the other side of the pond were measured in Km's.

After looking at the pic in the link I'm not sure if it is a belt or a chain.... looks like a chain. Just call a local supplier and ask.... they can also reccomend replacement intervals and advise on common issues with your engine if there are any.

Good luck with the car and new baby!!

Hi again mate...

Good to hear from you.

Were o.k, thanks, were getting sleep yeah, he's o.k really, he goes about 5 hours now which is good, lol. We have a 3 year old daughter also who needs her sleep so I stay up downstairs with the baby, then my partner comes down at about 5am our time, then I go to bed....

I was laid off from work, so don't have a job now so stopping up, then sleeping in doesn't effect much.

Thanks for the info mate....i did abit of internet searches but didn't find much,,or at least what i was looking for...

Daz.
