1989 Ford Escort Pony engine stall problem(s)
I have a 1989 Ford Escort Pony 1.9l TBI and i need some help. When i drive down the road it is fine until it gets warmed up and it just dies then wont restart for 5minutes to 3hours later it will crank and try but wont start. When i pulled off the main plug to the distributor after it died i get no spark or fuel coming out of the throttle body. I checked my fuel system its all fine(i.e pressure, pump runs fine, new filter, gas not discolored) but my Distributor is geting really hot. I also checked the ignition control module which is attached to the back of the distributor, i pulled of the wiring plug to it and it acts the same as when it dies no spark or fuel when i try to start. Anyways the real question is why is my distributor overheating, or even getting hot, how do i fix this and would this cause my ignition module to malfunction?
