93 gmc jimmy starting problem

I have a 93 jimmy with the 4.3 cfi. When cold it cranks for 10 seconds before starting and I have to give it fuel to start. It starts every time but the smoke really boils out when it does, and it idles kinda rough.Once it is warm it starts right up unless it has been sitting mabye 10 minutes.Driving down the road everything runs fine.Any suggestions on fixing this? It has always ran really good and started great till about a month ago this started and it is getting worse. Also I live in Oregon and we have manditory E10 gasoline now was this change maybe a factor? Have been using the new fuel for about six months.Help? Thanks!!!

Any "check engine" light? Sounds like perhaps something's gone wonky in the idle system.

No check engine light, thats what is crazy.I dont have a scanner so I have been trying to find out how to pull codes without one.I still wonder if this ethanol gas we use now has done something.

Re: 93 gmc jimmy starting problem

jump a to b terminal in the obd1 connector easier way, go to autozone etc have them scan it, i would recomend that before jumping terminals being jumping the wrong terminals WILL result in frying your ECM

all gas has around 10% ethonal in it E10 is just another way to pull on that already stressed wallet
