My Sonoma had a problem last week where it would crank but not turn over. It started with no problem after I coasted down a hill and popped the clutch. It ran fine for a week.
Now, it has sluggish acceleration and sounds like it missing on 1 cylinder. I drove for a week on a full tank and the gauge read 1/2 tank of gas. I went to a gas station and left the truck running while the attendant (yes, I live in NJ where we're not allowed to pump our own gas) tried to pump the gas. The pump kept stopping after a few seconds. The attendant kept trying and then gas was coming out of the gas spout on the truck meaning it was full. What could be the problem? I inherited the truck with a 114,000 miles a few months ago and still learning about the make-up of the engine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: 2003 Sonoma SL Running Rough and Full Gas Tank?
check your anti-freeze level if low check the oil and make sure there is no milky color to it. this has nothing to do with the filling of gas but there is a known problem with antifreeze getting in the engines and that could cause the miss.
as far as the gas not filling the hose from the fill neck to the tank could have a kink in it causeing fuel to not flow freely. there is also a vent hose coming out of the tank make sure it isnt kinked also. Bud. |
