Stuck Caliper Mounting Bracket Pin?

Any ever encounter a break caliper that has one alignment pin that moves and one that doesn't by design? Or are they always both suppose to move? I just did my '02 Elantra pads and rotors and noticed that both read calipers had one pin that was stuck in place. Now the right rear caliper is stuck to the rotor and the wheel is dragging like the breaks are always on that tire. But that tire only.

Wondering if I should just buy an all new caliper assembly or if the problem is the stuck pin and I just need to whack it till it comes free.

I'm not talking about the piston here, the piston moved easy enough when I pushed it in, I'm talking about the little alignment pins that are on the caliper mounting bracket.

Re: Stuck Caliper Mounting Bracket Pin?

both pins have to allow the caliper to slide.
you can probally take the caliper off and lube the pins and clean out where they slide to cure the problem.
And here's a better Auto forum for more info

Re: Stuck Caliper Mounting Bracket Pin?

If you are saying only 1 pin can be removed then yes, You remove 1 pin then pivot the caliper on the nonremoveable pin up off the rotor then you can slide the caliper off the pin,
GM uses this set up on some rear disc also.
