Re: jeep wont start
hi biggerd
just from the info you have listed fuel pump comes to mind. the first thing to do is check your basics, see if the vehicle is getting fuel and fire. to check for fire you can pull a plug wire off put a spark plug in it and lay it on the block of the engine then crank the motor over and look for a blue spark. for checking fuel you really need a fuel pressure gauge to know if your pump is giving propper fuel pressure. check these two things and let us know what you find out and maybe we can get your jeep back on the road. Bud. |

Re: jeep wont start
If it has no spark and the dist. and coil ck ok don't forget the crank shaft postion sensor (a very common problem for no start no spark situations). It's bolted to the upper drivers side of the bell housing.A little tough to get to but not very expensive to change yourself .

hey, I've changed the crankshaft sensor, and no go,sprayed starter fluid into injector body and runs with constant spray. But also discovered that if I hold the key between start and run the jeep will run on its own.Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. |
