Question 94 Chevy Camaro with a big water leak! help.

OK i have a 94 Chevy Camaro v6 3.4 liter. i just replaced the fuel pump in it. oh and if you plan on doing a fuel pump in one cut a hole in the floorboard under the back seat because it's like 5 hours quicker no joke. anyway on the way to my house from my shop it started spraying water and coolant all over. when i got home and let it cool i took a look at it and there is a 1 1/2 centimeter diameter hole where the waterpump meets the block but it does not look like erosion at all. I think a new water pump and gasket should fix the problem. if any one knows about this please help.

Re: 94 Chevy Camaro with a big water leak! help.

Bad waterpumps usually don't spray water. I suppose coolant could spray if the gasket leaked. I'd get a pressure tester and pump the radiator up and see if the leak becomes evident. Or, refill it and let it warm up and see where the coolant is coming from.

Re: 94 Chevy Camaro with a big water leak! help.

if it's a core plug hole
yes a core plug, from the size that's what it sounds like but they are usually on the side
they rust out and leak, but if one had been replaced and not fitted properly, the new one could have just blown out
you push one in until it holds, then get a socket that fits the rim and tap it into place
the problem occurs when it's not tapped in squarely
if you have a friend that works on cars ect. ask them to have a look and confirm what it is
