1998 malibu
so im haveing trouble with the car on the startup if i can get it to start it runs perfect though. the problem i am having is when i try to turn the key it makes the noise like its trying to start but it doesn't giving it gas while trying to start the car helps this but it will still sometimes stall immediatly after starting if it doesn't stall there is no problem even when i stop and the car idles it doesn't stall only on the start up. It has a weird thing where sometimes it wont stall out but the rpms will get super low the car will shake for a second and go back up and then we are good to go. another thing is only does this 50% of the time the rest it starts up perfect. i was hope to find the problem before it got to bad and i got stranded somewhere thanks for any suggestion for places to check also the fuel pump has been replaced recently.

Re: 1998 malibu
there's a fuel pump relay that sometimes goes bad, it's something that should be checked any time the pump needs replaced.
i one time changed a good pump because of this relay :(
