Re: brake problem

Hi kenman30 and welcome to TSF

That sounds like an interesting problem.
Help us out a little with the make and model of the car. Any other details would be helpful.

Cheers
Mack1

Re: Brake Problem - 1996 Oldsmobile Achieva

Hi kenman30,

Are you getting any indicator lights on the dash panel? "Brake, ABS", any?
Also, how much brake pedal do you have? Do you have as much break pedal when the engine is running as when it is not?
Is your engine idling fast? Plenty of brake fluid in the resevoir?
Did it start doing this all at once, or did it get worse as time went by?
Does it only occur when you are above 20 miles per hour? The only thing that I know that can take brake pressure away when the car is running is the ABS system.

You might be better off taking it to a mechanic, as driving without good brakes can be very dangerous. Be very careful until you either fix it or get it fixed.

Regards,
Mack1
