i bought a 95 cavalier 2.2 and it only runs on 2 cylinders. I replaced the #1 &4 ignition coil with a used one and the car worked for about a day and that same coil quit again. It would sometimes not work at start up and then come on and off once running for a few minutes. Shortly after this i shut the car off after running perfect but when i went to start it a minute later there was no fire from the #1&4 coil.
So i replaced that #1&4 coil with a brand new one but it would not fire. This led me to believe that it was the module in behind it so i replaced this module as well but to no avail. The car only runs on 2 cylinders. The #1&4 coil will not fire even though i already replaced the coil twice and also the ignition control module. I was wondering if it could be the ignition switch or the pcm or more likely the wiring inbetween these pieces. Some suggestions or wiring diagrams or anything would be great. thanks. PS- I checked the resistance in the used coil i believed had burnt out and it checked out ok/ |
