Re: 99 malibu

My first thought would be a fuse affecting the cluster and possibly the ECM.Check the basics first.Sounds like it's running on the fuel pump prime.

Re: 99 malibu

Good Morning 78z28, Yes as Cardoc mentioned check the basics, pay special attention to the fuses. Possibly an under-dash fuse has blown or has a connection problem.

Cheers, qldit.

Re: 99 malibu

Sometimes a public library will have a selection of manuals.
I don't recommend battery disconnect-the only thing it will reset is the security systems and cause new problems.

Re: 99 malibu

Good Evening bbarber275, it can be a problem in some cases.

The dealer should be able to advise.

Alternatively if you leave the battery disconnected for ten minutes and then reconnect it and hold the key in the ignition to the "on" position for a period like 30 seconds it may reprogram itself.

One of the other fellows here probably has a procedure for it.

The antitheft system can be a real nuisance.

See this post. http://www.techsupportforum.com/auto...ml#post1390109

Others will have different ideas

Cheers, qldit.
