Scanner problems; '02 Ford Windstar
I have tried several different scanners on an '02 Ford Windstar van to check for codes because of a check engine light. But the scanners won't detect the vehicle. Any suggestions?

Good Evening she haunts me, is the machine operating perfectly, is there any obvious reason why you may have a light?
Cheers, qldit. |

Look for blown fuses or popped out or bent connecters at the DLC.Also could be a bad circuit between the DLC and ECU.The list goes on from there.

Hi She Haunts Me,
I found that if you remove the fuse to extinguish the driving lights on a 96 S10 Blazer, the scanner won't work. Have you checked for blown fuses? cardoc, we are comming up with the same ideas again, aren't we. ![]() Mack1

Re: Scanner problems; '02 Ford Windstar
Good Morning Gentlemen, what are your thoughts on disconnecting the battery for a period to see it the light resets?
Only problem there is what other things might need reprogramming in the vehicle. Cheers, qldit. |

Re: Scanner problems; '02 Ford Windstar
Good afternoon
The modern Fords have a memory that shouldn't clear by battery disconnect.I would look for a bent pin/blown fuse first. After that it gets complicated. Cardoc |
