1989 Wrangler 4.2 6cyl. starting trouble.
I'm having trouble finding the ignition control module on my 1989 Jeep Wrangler. The chilton's book and all the research I've done points me to the passenger side firewall. I can't find it or wiring harness coming off of it anywhere. Is there anywhere else it could possibly be located?

Re: 1989 Wrangler 4.2 6cyl. starting trouble.
Cardoc,
Thank you for your help but after a lot of research it turned out that the ICM was located on the rear of the driver side wheel well underneath the coolant resevoir. Replaced the ICM and it started after about 3 cranks. But now shes running rough so I'll have to check the timing, replace the fuel filter and maybe some other odds and ins to figure out how to smooth out the idle. |
