Car proformance
Hey guys as you may know i will be driving soon and i wanted to get the best proformance out of our 1986 isuzu trooper 2 (dad go rear ended in one of our cars so i think i am stuck with this) that is manufactured in 1985 so its the origanal. And this is not the diesel.
However the car has a hard time going over 55 (ouch) you can feel it working really hard and thats only half the speedometer so i think its should be able to go like 70 work done for this problem replaced air filter, it idles alittle higher and has more get up and go went from 50 to 55 and i was cleaning some of the engine with a brush and rag yesterday was looking into this http://www.atvoffroad.net/forums/arc...php/t-936.html but i also read if there is alot of carbon it can come off and sometimes damage your engine ![]() Out air filter container has a bolt going through it into something with a seal (lost the wing nut am looking for one because it looks like it should be airtight) Thanks in advance for any help

Re: Car proformance
The water things is an old thing, when cars had a real problems with carbon build up. I don't suggest it. Excess carbon has not really been a problem for years. Sure engines can build up some carbon, but nothing like they 30-40 years ago.
First thing to do is get the air cleaner system sealed back up. On a personal note, do really need to be able to go 70? BG |

Re: Car proformance
You use a die and cut it down to next smaller size. Keep the metal flakes out of the air passage.

I am sorry but being a parent, going through this a couple of times, new drivers should not be concerned about driving 70. Think of driving like you working on PC problems. You weren't born with your PC skills, were you? Driving is a skill. Aso......you are going to be driving a "box" there will be a big difference in gas mileage from 55 to 70. Not to mention that the vehicle is 22 years old. It may be like me, just old and tired. I don't nearly as good as I used to. BG |
