2000 gmc jimmy 4x4 4.3

i am pulling the motor and tranny out of this suv, the problem im having is the oil pan wont clear the front axle and houseing.

just wondered if anyone has had this problem and knew of any tricks to help out. i dont want to seperate the tranny from the motor as those who have worked on these vehicles know there is almost no room to get the bolts out of the top of the tranny.

another choice i have is to seperate the front axle from the frame. i havent really checked out this option much, but have considered it.

all comments and help are appreciated thanks in advanced.

Not use if there isn't a reason or you dont want to take the chance, but can you take the oil pan off?

i think the oil pan and pump could be removed, just not easily. there isn't alot of room to manuver tools and if i get all the bolts off the pan i'm not 100% sure it will come out of the space im tring to work with.

this headache is finaly over incase any of you guys run into the security reset on one of these vehicles its turn the key to the acc. position leave it there until the security light quits flashing (10-15 mins) then you should be good to go.
