2000 Chrysler minivan-no start
3.8 engine already changed cam sensor, crank sensor, coil pack, no codes in computer. Pull a plug wire off and check with another plug, it fires 1-2 times when you start cranking and then nothing. Im lost.
Thanks DEREK |

Re: 2000 Chrysler minivan-no star
Good Morning stpmotorsports, that could possibly be a coilpack driver problem, do you have a Haynes manual for that vehicle.
The coilpack may be driven by a separate power transistor chip module or that circuit may be in the computer. If you can check the manual it should describe how it operates. Others may have more info on this. Cheers, qldit. |

Re: 2000 Chrysler minivan-no start
Yes, the module is in the computer, according to techs at the dealership. They don't seem to think that is the problem though. One tech at the dealer said something about the anti-theft system having the ignition locked out. If this is the case does anyone know how to disarm or disable the anti-theft without going to the dealer to have it done? Any help is greatly appreciated, I have been working on cars for almost 15 years and have never run into anything quite like this.

Re: 2000 Chrysler minivan-no start
Good Morning stpmotorsports, the antitheft systems can really be difficult to play with, and in many cases there is an information vacuum about them.
Sorry no help, you will need the actual schematic diagram and try to work out how to disable that function. Others here may have info. Cheers, qldit. |

Re: 2000 Chrysler minivan-no start
Thanks, you are correct, there is not much info out there on the Anti theft systems. I assume that is a good thing for the person worried about their car being stolen, but it is not much fun for the guy trying to work on them.
Have a good day yourself. |

Re: 2000 Chrysler minivan-no start
Just a simple thought that may help.Chrysler uses an auto shut done relay that will cause this sympton if it sticks. In the relay fuse center under the hood it may be labeled something like AIS relay. You'll find a lot of the relays in the box that look the same and are the same part number.Try swapping with something like the ac or horn relay. This is a simple diag with out cost, the best type.Good luck.
