Power issue
The last few days I have had the problem of, while driving mostly during turns my car will just shut off. Whats the problem possibly. As well last night i had the problem of my car not getting power when I turned the key in the ignition. No response as it usually turns the gages on and all those works. But then i checked the battery connection and all that under the hood to be fine. Put the hood down then tried again and it worked. This one is just majorly confusing to me so please help. 89 ford probe.

Re: Power issue
Good Morning jmstapleton14, it sounds like your problem may be a defective battery, battery terminal, battery lead or the connections in that general area.
Others will have different ideas. Cheers, qldit. |

Re: Power issue
I agree, check all your ground connections, especially on the body/engine not just at the battery. Follow the leads from the battery out, and you'll usually find at least one ground to the chassis. Also check the ground wire from the block of the engine to the body. Also double check the hot wire that goes from the alternator to the battery, and also the alternator mounting brackets, make sure they're clean.
