'89 Jeep Cherokee speedometer problem
The speedometer does not work. Could it be a sensor or does this model have a cable? It is an inline 6 4.0, automatic. Thanks!

Re: '89 Jeep Cherokee speedometer problem
Good Morning jmleggett, it seems no one knows for sure.
Have a look under the vehicle, if it is a cable you should be able to see it exiting from the rear of the gearbox or possibly through the front of the firewall under the bonnet. At a guess I would suspect it is an electronic system with a speed sensor, if so check the speed sensor wiring harness near the sensor for damage, it is not uncommon for off-road 4WD vehicles to flick up foreign objects and cause problems. Others will have different ideas. Cheers, qldit. |
