90 probe idles way too high then surges?

No, vacuum leak that i can find, I cleaned everything i can see w/ carb cleaner, disconnected the MAF, at first it just surged at idle and would be fine while driving, now the idle climbs way too high as soon as you start it. I have to turn it off. I would greatly appreciate any help or thoughts.

My System

Hello and welcome to TSF.

Sounds like the IAC or idle air control motor.

Usually it is on the throttle body.

I think i found it, it has four screws and a vacuum line, when i pulled the line there was back pressure, like somethings stuck. I also found the very high idle problem, one of those felt battery terminal pads must have split and got sucked into the intake at some point, and lodged in the butterfly. At least now i can work on it, the idle is back to its normal surging. It looks like i have to remove the master cylinder to get to the screws. normal phillips too long and stubby too short. I will let you know and thanx for all your time.

ICV (Idle Control Valve) we call it in England.

Or Stepper Motor.

9/10 Idling problems are caused by it. They get very oily and messy and can stick open just the slightest bit. A simple case of cleaning it out.

You should find it underneath the throttle body.
