1997 cavalier

i own a 1997 2.2 cavalier with electrical problems. (surprise). my driving lights sometimes dont come on and right front signal light doesnt always work. checked obvious. bulbs ok. sockets look new. no obvious breaks in wiring. any suggestions? relay?

If the sockets are new then perhaps this vehicle was in a accident and the front end lighting parts were replaced.
I would check the wires for the lights. You might have a short which can cause intermittent operation. Possibly a loose ground wire.

Idea

Also check the earths, if need be add another earth wire to see if it makes a difference, I've seen a lot of cars where the earths had corroded etc reducing performance, you could also put a meter on the lights in turn to see what power is getting to them, if it isn't enough you will need to back trace to find the weak spot.
