Servicing The Engine Cooling Sytem

when I' service my cars cooling system,like drain and refill the engine coolant, or replace the radiator hoses,water pump ect.

how do I' get all the air out of the engines blocks' and heads once the engine coolant has been toped off with coolant?

I' looked in my repair manual but theres no mention on burping the cooling system?

seems to me this should be necessary step,as theres air in the engine heads and water pump?

Look on the engine for a bleeder valve or two (yes...you thought those were only on the brakes). Open them up and let the air hiss out with it running but before it gets up to normal temp.

can I' just let the car ide for 10-15 min with the radiator cap of,& let the air out of the system this way?

If you don't have any bleeders that would be the correct way to burp the air out....just watch and make sure it doesn't overheat.

lots of times there is a bleeder right there at the thermostat housing, but be careful, they are known to break.
