1971 blazer heater core problems

i have a 71 blazer with a leeking heater core, when i ordered a new replacement they arn't the same. the cores are smaller than the origonal and the copper pipe sticks out to far and won't fit in the box. any ideas?

If your blazer has A/C, you may have gotten one for non-A/C. Or vice versa. Take both of them back to where you got them.

Rem, post the brand and part # of the core you got...lemme do a check on that at work Thursday.

on the core it has a sticker that reads (MD:399090 PWO:2191251 REF:H50F). it is close but not close enough. origional core is 6 3/8x9 1/2x2 3/8. new core is 6 1/8x9 5/8x2.

do i need to take it to a radiater shop and just have the cor modified

Did the box it was in have a part number and manufacturer?

The heater core you got is for a Blazer with A/C. (MD:399090)

This one fits a Blazer with out A/C. (MD:399067)

mine has A/C I think that they use the core without A/C and bent the change the pipes on the tanks to fit with A/C and that is why the core is a diffrent size. not very many 1971 blazers with A/C. I think I might have to just modify the new one

You could have aftermaket or dealer installed A/C.
