Check and see what type of fluid they put into your tranny....I think late model Nissan/Infiniti transmissions use a slightly different fluid from other cars.

Mistake

that would be an "I" put in Dextron 3 when changing the fluid, but his problem was happening the day before I changed the fluid, that is why I thought I should change it in the first place.
Any thoughts?
Thanks, its parked and sitting like a duck, I dont like to see my grey baby like that..
Much appreciation in to any suggestions you have. I will try anything before I eat a transmittion bill. LOL

Hello,
are you talking about the strainer? no I did not, would that have made a dragging in first gear to second effect?
The Fluid is still fresh, should I go out and change that right away?
thank you for your time.

Go to your local parts store and ask for ATP AT-202 additive. Put a bottle of this in there with the fluid you have now and see if that helps. This product will convert the fluid into a replacement for the Nissanmatic fluid that came in it from the factory.
Edit: How did the old fluid look and smell?

I hate to say this, but your best bet is to see your local nissan/infinity dealer.
Many of these transmissions are controlled by fairly complex electronics and can be quickly diagnosed by a reputable dealer using their proprietary scan tools. these tools do provide a wealth of info not available to generic or even Snap On or OTC scan tools. I have worked in both independant and dealership shops and have used most scanners, but the dealer ones are best. I have seen shifting problems in Nissans caused by a part called a dropping resistor. They vary in location and resistance value according to make and model, but I have seen a number of them changed in our shop to correct shifting problems.

Might want to go ahead and change that strainer...just don't put any type of sealant on that pan gasket! A tiny globule of that stuff in the wrong place and it will spell doom for that tranny.

Hello Midnight Tech..
Well the outcome is not good but at least I got the job done.. I even got dirty too! Well it was taken to the machine at the dealership and I have two bad coil packs and a tranny pump.. so $1000.00 later.. shes purring like a kitten. The liquid you referred me to, did help and I was able to run it for two days with no problems and get it to the dealership.. so thank you.. I saved on towing..

But I wanted to take a moment and sincerely thank you for your help, suggestions and support in my car.. Take care Sugah..
