Ford Escort Brake lights
Hope anyone can helprear red lights dont come on whilst driving in the dark. Any ideas where the relay is? |

There is no relay for the lights. If you have marker lights and no brake lights..this could be either a fuse issue or a bad brake light switch which is located at the top on the brake pedel. First..check the fuses and make sure the light fuse is not burnt out. Then use a 12V test light and see if you have 12v+ at the marker light. If so..check the light bulb itself and make sure it's not burnt out. If I'm not mistaken there's an access panel in the trunk/hatchback for access to the lights.

Thanks for the reply.
Its the marker lights that are not on. Neither side are working. I will check the bulbs, but i thought it strange that they both went. I rarely use the car in the dark, so it is possible they blew at different times. Once again, thanks for your help.
