Yes it is. I hope it's going to stay that way.

Re: How to copy your operating system from one hard drive to another
I want to read the original article, but when I click on the link, error message says -File Not Found-.
Has the original article been removed?

Sorry about that. The system is being updated and articles moved offsite. To help you I've copied the original to here.

Re: How to copy your operating system from one hard drive to another
Thank you! I followed the directions through Option 1 and it worked! The only thing I did differently was to use the "Add Test Boot" option instead of the QBD, but I did make a QBD also just in case. Next I will try Option 2 when I feel a bit more brave.

Re: How to copy your operating system from one hard drive to another
I'm glad to hear it worked. I use the Pro version and make incremental backups every night.

Re: How to copy your operating system from one hard drive to another
hi uh, i'm kinda new to this whole thing, so im just going to state what problem i am having...and if anyone can help, then that would be awsome...
well, i followed the instructions on the "XxClone - How to copy your operating system from one drive to another." but for some reasone, my computer doesn't do step 20, and i put the floppy and evrything, but it never shows anything like it does in the image...is it supposed to tale a long time for it to even get there? BTW my computer is running on 500MHz of CPU, would that have an effect on it? |

Re: How to copy your operating system from one hard drive to another
This should happen fairly quickly even on a 500MHz machine. Have a look at your floppy in Explorer and see what files are there. You should have the following:
Autoexec.bat Boot.ini Config.sys Io.sys MSDos.sys NTDetect.com NTLDR

i only see see a file called BOOT and thats it
is it possible that i'm missing some programs or components?or something? is it also possible that i might have done some step wrong? because it kinda feels like i might have probably done step 12 wrong...is the window supposed to close its self or do i have to close it? Re: How to copy your operating system from one hard drive to another
I'm glad to hear it worked OK. No, you don't have to change jumpers etc. if you use the QBD.
