Re: " Windows 7"
Windows 7 is the next version of Windows after Vista. The unfinished beta version was released recently and is due to expire in August before being officially released to the public. It's based on Vista with some improvements, and looks set to be much more popular.

Re: " Windows 7"
Windows 7 was promised to be faster the vista, when I first installed it that seemed so but as they add updates to it seems to be slowing down.
It has some nice new features but when it gets released I would not be in a hurry to jump on it unless it truely is faster then vista, time will tell |

Re: " Windows 7"
Wmorri, I went to the site you linked above but couldn't find the answer I'm looking for. Do you or anyone else know if I'll be able to 'upgrade' from a Vista OEM version or will I need to buy the full version.

Re: " Windows 7"
Windows 7 policy is still in the infancy stages. Microsoft has indicated that upgrades will be available along the same lines as prior OS upgrades, but there is nothing yet set in stone.
The Windows 7 beta period is now set to expire August 1, 2009. Microsoft has not yet set a release date for the final production version of Windows 7, nor have upgrade options and pricing been set yet either. Regards. . . jcgriff2 . |

Re: " Windows 7"
I wasn't really worried about when my Beta expires. I'm thinking back to the old days when I upgraded from 3.1 to 95 and then 98 etc. In order to just buy the upgrade, you needed the operating discs from the previous install to verify. The machine I'm looking at upgrading is a Gateway with the OEM version so all I have is their recovery disc, so I'm wondering if that qualifies or will I have to buy the full on version of Windows 7.
