CD Support in OS/2 2.1

Hi,
I recently picked up a couple of Compaq Armada 7750MT laptops, and after getting one of them working, and testing it with DR DOS, installed OS/2 from disk, (One laptop had a removable disk drive, the other a removable CD drive) It would not allow me to install any CD drivers, (I figured this is because the CD drive wasn't plugged in.) After OS/2 was installed, I tried putting the CD drive in, and trying to at least select a driver, but it still won't even to try install any. Same result with the disk drive in.

Any suggestions on how to get it to use the CD drive would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
