OS: WinFLP up-to-date
|
I am running WinFLP (Windows Fundamentals For Legacy PCs) This is a different version of Windows XP which is also by Microsoft (just to clear that up in advance).
So far every program i could have wanted on there has worked but there is an issue with Email, I have always used Outlook Express to send/receive and it is not included in this version of windows. I tried Outlook 2003 and this has an issue with sending and receiving emails, i do not have access to the errors at the minute as it is a computer at work. If anyone has any information regarding how to get these 2 programs to function on WinFLP or possibly any programs similar which WILL WORK on WinFLP that would be great. Thanks. |

Re: WinFLP & OE/Outlook2003
That's ok. I was checking your rar file for viruses and thought I'd extract the images to save everyone else doing it.
![]() Welcome to the forum. I don't use Outlook, so I can't offer much help with this one, but hang on for some more replies and we'll get your problem fixed as soon as possible. If you've set up POP and SMTP correctly, then it could be that Outlook is not compatible with your version of Windows. Have you considered a different email client like Mozilla Thunderbird? Re: WinFLP & OE/Outlook2003
I think it's saying that Outlook will not work on WinFLP at all, "even with a full install".
Is is really necessary for you use Outlook? There are plenty of good email clients available for free, many being better than Outlook in terms of security, features and system resources. And you can import your existing emails and address book if required.

Re: WinFLP & OE/Outlook2003
This addon for Thunderbird looks like the easiest way to import an Outlook PST file.
