Having trouble downloading fedora core 6 dvd iso on my windows xp computer.

What sucks about this is that the download itself at a 54mbps transfer rate takes me about 10 hours.... No joke. I get so close to finishing downloading it but it always ends up giving me an error saying operation timed out.... it doesnt give a reason why.... I think it might have something to do with my Linksys router or my usb wireless thingy that i use to get internet on my desktop... p.s. Its hard for me to troubleshoot this kind of problem since it takes so long to even generate the error. It will usually give me the error right before its finished downloading... My computer is teasing me...

Hey,

Attempt to update the firmware on your Linksys router, they are notorious for having connectivity issues. You'll have to login to your router and there should be an option somewhere in there to update the firmware. That should quell your problem... I think.

Regards,

Brandon

My System

Well do you have trouble downloading other stuff? It might be the download mirror that you're using, try another mirror. List of mirrors:

thats strange coz u should not have that type of problem when downloading the cirten file i did the same thing and i had no problems so i am guessing its a software error depending on what size it is e.g that if you doenload a large file siz when its 99.9% done it normaly saved to the hdd but if it came with a error then its either u dont have enough hdd space or that the software cant handel the download size hope that works what i said never encounted it before.
