How secure is chrome?

Hello

I am using Chrome as my default browser and have just spent couple of days removing a back door trojan from my PC (thanks tetonbob). My question is whether Chrome is the best browser to use to protect my security, or whether I'd be better with firefox or something else.

In particular, you can't disable Java in Chrome and people say that is a security risk (though I don't think I'd know when it was appropriate to disable Java even if I could), and you can't install Web of Trust for Chrome, it's only available for IE or firefox.

Interested in any opinions.

Regards

Re: How secure is chrome?

I read in some article that Chrome as well as a few other top named browsers were being stress tested at some convention in some place some time ago--I know not really helpful. Well they said Chrome held up the longest so was indeed more secure. That could have changed at any time however and, of course, once you challenge a group of people that love breaking stuff to break stuff... they usually break it.

Re: How secure is chrome?

I think I'll stick with Chrome for now and see how it goes.

Thanks ahmorrow

Anytime. I personally didn't like the way it looked--too childish maybe?--and made my own. So I dunno.
