Opera - Not showing jpg, gif, etc pictures

Hello there!

I'm posting for a friend, from a friend's computer. Her problem persists with Opera Browser 9.64. She's had a weird occurrence where when navigating to some kinds of sites, she'd click on a thumbnail picture that brings an enlarged pop-up picture out, but never loads. It hangs there with the circle loading indication. I've tried to open the pop up pictures in Firefox, that was successful.

So, what I have tried to do is enable the MIME type in Opera, to allow gif, jpeg, etc. But it still is a No-Go.

One example of a site is: Toyota. c o m : When hovering over a specific car type, following with clicking photos, then clicking on the thumbnails to see the enlarged pictures. No picture shows up.

If this is not enough information, please tell me so, and I'll do my best to post pictures, computer information, etc. This is a Windows XP machine.

Thank you, and sorry for the long post, it's complicated to explain!

Appreciate it.

TinkTink,

I was looking at the Toyota site and noticed a lot of Flash in use. Perhaps check that the Flash plugin is operating and current?

Re: Opera - Not showing jpg, gif, etc pictures

Opera can disable Images/pictures for faster loading of web pages. You may have accidentally turned images off (I've done this many times). Click View, then Images, then Show Images. You may need to reload the webpage at this point.

However, if that doesn't help and the popups for viewing images is AJAX based, I have noticed some issues with this under Opera. And I believe the problem is with Opera not properly supporting this. You may wish to consider trying Opera 10 to see if this fixes the problem, but keep in mind that it's still in Alpha testing right now, so it may not be stable.

Re: Opera - Not showing jpg, gif, etc pictures

It seems to be a case , where some settings in opera are changed
So to get rid of this issue , try to unistall and reinstall opera on your computer , it will resolve your issue.

Re: Opera - Not showing jpg, gif, etc pictures

Hello all,

I have been MIA and I apologize for that. Anyways, I have had my friend try to uninstall and reinstall and I have had her try the 'repair' option, but she says there doesn't seem to be a 'repair' option for that.

I will have her try the suggestion Skie has given. I'll let you know what happens. Thank you for all the advice.

I don't know about flash being disabled, but i'll have her check that as well.

Thanks again! Be back soon!
