Post Please Help Aol is giving me an odd browser problem

When I try to visit a site named www.getpaidto.com i get a blank page with a explanation mark in the top left of the window.

I have followed all of the instructions in aol to allow scripting and set to allow cookies however i still can't get this website to work at all. I have cleared all cookies/ footprints in aol several times.

The odd thing is that i can get these to work in IE and Firefox on my computer but not AOL and i really need it to work in AOL.

I have attached a picture of what it looks like to me when I visit the page.

Thanks in advance.

Matt

Welcome to TSF!!!

Hi,

I have two thoughts for you. First why do u need the AOL browser so much. There really isn't a lot of support for it anywhere, even AOL has stopped supporting it. Second is if it works in IE of FF why don't you just use one of them. They have a lot better security and there is actual support for them.

Another thing that I noticed is that your address bar says mail.google.com/mail/... you aren't trying to check your mail are you? That could have something to do with it. Just a thought.

Cheers!

Well the google is just another screen in the back when i was checking my mail.

The reason I need aol is because the sites like i explained above need to check cookies. I have found that you get approved 70% more when you use aol after completing offers. I have no clue why but i have tested it out and several other people on different computers not my obviously lol.

I just cant figure this out. The worst part is i have a 3 years in computer information systems for school lol. This is bad.

Thanks for your response.

I don't understand that statement. If i go to any site that uses cookies in FF then that site will also look for the cookie stored in FF too. I also don't understand what you are getting approved for. Do the websites ask you if you want to install the cookies before you view the site?

Don't worry about having 3 years of CIS, we all have our strengths and weaknesses, I am sure that you are good with some things that I am not so good with.

Cheers!

This is due to AOL's incredibly lax security. Tracking cookies? Doesn't your security suite pick these up?

I would use a more reputable site, one that stores the information on their servers, rather than saddling you with tonnes of potentially harmful tracking cookies. You don't know if their capabilites extend beyond the site they came from (I would suspect not).
