Question Flaky internet connection

Hi ,
Hopefully somebody will have some idea what i am talking about and help me out - i'm all outa ideas .
I put together a pc and am having trouble with the internet . The connection is good , works fine on my other pc .
I'm using Windows XP home and IE 7 -(same for both pc's).

I can connect to my homepage and browse around for a bit but within 5 minutes i lose the connection and no amount of trying to repair will work. If i disable and then re-enable i get it back , but only for a few minutes.
I'm using an Asus P5WD2 premium board and Intel P4 2.8 Ghz processor.

Cant think of any other usefull info - help meeeeee.....

Re: Flaky internet connection

What is your Internet provider, and what type of connection do you have (DSL, Dial-up, etc.)?

Re: Flaky internet connection

I'm with Clearwire , they are an American company and the broadband is straight out of the box - i just plug the modem in , connect to my pc , power up and away i go -2mb.

Should have posted this on IE forum ,did'nt see it before.
I'm using an oem copy of xp also oem mcafee. I tried disable non essential components of the mcafee just enabling firewall and virus protection and this has speeded things up but am still losing the connection after a while.

Thanks 4 your reply
