Netscape 7.2 cannot open mail

Trying to open mail I get this error message: "Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you to write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox"
This just started after about 4 years of 7.2, I have tried just about everything. Any ideas?
