I need help on using different Browsers
I have MS explorer 7.0 which seems to have a problem with downloading long programs, such as Visual Basic 2005 express edition.
GTP, suggested using Mozilla/firefox to help provent download drop outs and or allow downloads to pickup downloading from where it did drop out. -- I have downloaded it, but I am not sure if I should run it as my main Browser or not. I am reloading it and VB again because I had to do a restore and back up a few days because of another problem. --The question is: Can I have more then one Browser on board and should I run it as the main Browser? Any additional info would be helpful in this matter. Thank you very much on any info regarding my Pro-blam-ous.

Re: I need help on using different Browsers
You can have as many different browsers on your system as you would like and have the memory for. As for making one or the other your default browser, make whichever one you like the best your default browser. If your tastes change you can easily change it to another. On my computer at home I have 4 different browsers installed.

Re: I need help on using different Browsers
I wanted to see what else is out there and give them a try and I am simply too lazy to uninstall the ones I have not used in a while. I am sure some are horribly outdated by now
If my hard drive starts to fill up then some of them are sure to go![]() You might find this link interesting: http://www.alternativebrowseralliance.com/browsers.html

Re: I need help on using different Browsers
To be honest I am not sure if the download manager is able pickup where it left off if the connection is dropped. I have never had a problem with large downloads. I know you can pause and resume downloads though. Perhaps others might know.

Re: I need help on using different Browsers
Downloadthemall is a Firefox extension and it'll be able to speed up the download (if permitted by the connecting server) and continue a download from wherever you last broke off. :)
