internet Explorer problem

Hi, this is my first post and I recently had my hard drive reformatted, when I got it back I tried to establish MSN as my homepage. Well, I was able to set it as my homepage but everytime I open the browser, instead of going to my homepage the browser goes to some page labeled customize your homepage. I went to options and checked my homepage and it says MSN. The homepage button on my browser (IE 7) says MSN, so i'm confused and wonder how to set it so it goes directly to MSN. I haven't had this problem before. I've done many spyware scans and i believe I've have everything cleaned up. Any help would be appreciated.

Laugh Re: internet Explorer problem

I was given advise to quit using IE and since switching to Mozilla I've had little or no problems with browsing. The annoying little pop ups, "Internet explorer has encountered a problem and must close," I don't see any more.

Thanks everyone for the help, but my problem wasn't so much with IE as it was with something called runonce. I have been able to block that and now it 's not a problem any longer. Something else that has me worried is that I'm getting some hints that my hard drive may be on its last legs. I guess it is always something with computers. Thanks again:

Re: internet Explorer problem

If you're concerned about the condition of your hard drive, go into BIOS and make sure SMART is enabled. This monitors the drive at startup to try and spot any potential trouble. Some motherboards don't have this feature, so don't worry if you can't find it.

Also download the disk diagnostics tool from your hard drive manufacturer's website.
