Pictures are blocked
I use both IE and Opera, depending on the webpage I am going to. I just got this new laptop and for some reason, pictures and music on myspace are blocked. Pictures on blogger had been blocked as well, until I uploaded a new picture from my photobucket. I'm not sure why the pictures aren't working. Also, when I go to myspace, when using Opera, the individual advertisemtns on the site have a box saying that the URL wasn't found. Are there any suggestions?

Re: Pictures are blocked
I'm not sure what firewall I have. I did go to internet options in IE and I made sure that the feature to allow images in websites was checked. I have no idea what the problem is!!!

Re: Pictures are blocked
You will need to check what firewall you do have I'm afraid. If it's a proprietary system, like Dell, then I expect an Internet Security Suite like Norton o be installed (part of which is a software firewall).
If you don't, then chances are it's still the Windows SP2 firewall running. Open up Start>Run>type: msconfig and hit Enter and under the "Startups" tab look for anything related to security - or post back what you see there. |

Re: Pictures are blocked
Also, go to Start > Control Panel >Security Center and click Windows Firewall. This will tell you if the Windows firewall is enabled. It should be disabled if you are using a 3rd party firewall like Zone Alarm or Comodo.
It could also be that your other security software is blocking images or scripts. You need to check the options in all your security software and browsers to see what's going on.

Re: Pictures are blocked
Ok... I do use Comodo. I turned off the Windows Firewall, but the pictures are still blocked. Does anyone know how to change that setting in Comodo?

It's something on your system though, most likely security related which is blocking these. Are you running any Security Suites? |
