Bookmarks disappeared

I opened Netscape 7.2 today, and the bookmarks were all gone. This happened once before and I found a fix for it. Now I can't find the fix. I had bookmarked the site where I had found the fix. Smart, huh? Anyone know the fix?

Does a Windows search find a file called 'bookmarks.html'? You'd need to tell search to look in hidden files and folders.

I found that file, but I can't open it.

If you double-click on it, does it open in the browser? If the file does work OK, take a copy of it and store it somewhere safe away from the Netscape directory. Then you'll always have a backup if things go wrong.

Perhaps importing the bookmarks file using the Bookmarks Manager would make the browser see them again.

I finally found a couple of sites that taken together had instructions. It did have to do with using the Netscape bookmark manager to import the bookmarks.html file. It worked, importing the file.

My System

MozBackup works for Netscape, making it easy to backup and restore profiles, bookmarks, etc.
