Firefox appears to be causing internet timeouts?
Every time i start my computer, I am able to connect to the internet through my broadband connection, and log into msn. I can surf sites through internet explorer.
Since friday, however, firefox has been causing problems. I can open it, and surf sites for about 5 minutes before it loses the connection. Once that has lost the connection, I.E is unable to connect. AVG and adaware can't update. Msn stays connected, and if I use a proxy I can surf as normal, albeit not as fast or reliably as before. I have uninstalled firefox and everything returned to normal. I clean installed firefox and everything was normal for about an hour before the problems began again. I have scanned for spyware and adware and viruses, but everything came up clean. Does anybody have any idea what is wrong, and how I would fix it? I don't want to be stuck on I.E forever. Thanks |
