Flash not working

I've installed the Flash player a couple of times, but I still can't get Flash movies to play in FireFox. I usually just open up an IE tab (via an extension), but that's kind of inconvenient. Has anyone else had this problem?

I know that under Linux, Flashplayer has to be installed into each browser seperately. But I don't know how to tell you to do it in windows. And it could be another issue. Check this.

Thanks for the link. I'll check when I get home, but it's quite possible the ad-blocking software is suppressing Flash in FireFox. I never would have thought of that.

I had the same problem. Used Internet Explorer to download latest Flashplayer... seems to work across the board now.

It seems that most programs seek Internet explorer's 'copy' of Flashplayer to use its functions.

or something. all I know is that installing flashplayer on IE fixed the problems I had with that.

I actually managed to solve this problem last night, though it was an ordeal trying to install the Flash player again because there's no indication anywhere that it's installed (as far as I can tell) unless you go to the plugins directory under the Firefox program directory.

For some reason the Flash plugin had not installed previously. I uninstalled it from Internet Explorer, downloaded the manual installer, and reinstalled it. At that point Flash worked in FireFox, but not in IE. IE specifically wanted the ActiveX install of the Flash player, so I obleeged it.

And for the record, ad-blocking software will suppress Flash. Be aware if you're having this same problem. Try disabling it first.
