Gmail won't work

I have been using gmail for a pretty long time (maybe 6 months?) and all of a sudden, it doesn't work anymore. I have typed mail.google.com, gmail.google.com, gmail.com and others, but all it says on firefox is "The connection was refused when contacting google.com". I've tried it on Firefox and IE and neither work. However, gmail works on other computers, so I'm assuming there's something wrong with my computer. The weird thing is my yahoo mail still works. Can anyone help?

Try clearing your internet history and cache, see if that does the trick. If that doesn't work shut off your firewall and see if it's an issue with that. If that doesn't work hopefully someone else can help. Good luck.

Clearing all that stuff worked. Thanks a lot. Any idea why my yahoo account still worked while gmail didn't?
