Forget about hotmail, only Outlook Express can send/receive mail with them. As for yahoo, you need a subscription to yahoo plus to get POP access.

You do not need a Yahoo Mail Plus account account subscription to use Yahoo mail with Outlook.

You need to download and install YPOP.

http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/

I have been using it on a number of machines and it works pretty good. You can configure it to actually download to your Outlook and empty your Yahoo mail or leave your mail in your Yahoo account.

I have my Outlook set up to pull mail from 4 different e-mail accounts and send out on 1 account as default.
