[SOLVED] Cannot print from Firefox

Suddenly, a couple days ago, I was not able to print from Firefox. Never had a bit of trouble with this before. No problem printing a WORD file or .txt file. Tried reinstalling the Dell 3110 software.
At one point found some directions on line, but could not print them out!
Can you help?

Hello. I'm not a moderator of this forum, so you can ignore me if you wish and wait for one of them. I was simply bored and wanted to help. So, I goolged your problem, and it led me to this link here:

I tested the first method (the one in the quote below) on my FireFox to see if it would have any adverse effects on mine which DOES work. I do not however have a real printer hooked up to my PC. I used Microsoft XPS printer, a program that prints it to a document.

Anyway, I followed these steps, and it didn't have any adverse effects on my FireFox. You don't have to follow my advice, as it may or may not help, but I just know that it did not hurt MINE in any way. But, I was just trying to help, as I've been waiting for FireFox support here for like 2 days.

As a first step, reset the selected printer in your Firefox preferences:

1. Type about:config in the Location Bar and press Enter. A list of preferences will appear.
2. Find the preference print.print_printer (Note: this preference is missing in Firefox profiles where you've never used the printer.)
3. Right-click (context-click) that preference and select "Reset".
4. Restart Firefox and see if the problem is resolved.

Note: If you get the warning dialog, "Printing failed when starting the document" and if the print.print_printer preference has no printer shown, either you don't have a printer selected, or Firefox doesn't know it is installed on your system.

I couldn't print from Firefox -- but I finally

fixed it by upgrading by downloading a (slightly) new version.
