Re: mozilla uninstall
Do you mean Firefox or the old discontinued Mozilla/Navigator suite?
If Firefox is running, close it. Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up the Task Manager. If firefox.exe is in the list, right-click it and select End Process. Then go to Start > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Firefox from there.

Re: mozilla uninstall
Actually it is Mozilla Firefox 3.5.3. It was suggested that I try Mozilla (to get away from m/s) however I am having additional problems (I cannot install updates - up to about 54 now that try every time I shut down but do not take) So I thought I would delete Mozilla Firefox and go back to i/e to work things out.
As to your suggestion - When I close Mozilla it no longer remains in the task list so there is nothing to 'end process' on. I go through to the control panel to uninstall and it proceeds to the point where it asks me permission to continue and then nothing. |

Are you logged into Vista with full admin rights?

Re: mozilla uninstall
Yes, my user profile has full admin rights, there is only one user set up on this computer. But when I look there are 2 other profiles - one is guest (which is off) and the other is ASP.NET Machine Account

Re: mozilla uninstall
Not to interrupt, but, do you by any chance have a firewall besides the regular Windows Firewall, installed? I noticed with the one I use (Comodo) it made some installs and uninstalls hang a bit. It would ask 5 - 10 times to block and or allow this or that operation, etc... And I had to click through all of those just to get the programs to install/uninstall.
