[SOLVED] Firefox downloads won't work
I just got firefox, and wanted to download some different utilities to my computer.
So I downloaded something and Firefox's download screen came up, but the download wouldn't start so I double clicked on it and it started. But then after it was done downloading and I double clicked to run it, I got a windows error about not being able access the file. So I "opened containing folder" and unlocked it for windows to use. But then after double clicking it again I got second error about not being a valid win32 application. So I downloaded same file with IE and everything did fine and the program installed. Anyone got an idea of why this is happening? p.s. I tried multiple .exe downloads with Firefox. Non worked. |

Re: Firefox downloads won't work
Hello,
What "different utilities" have you been downloading? Are these the same as the "multiple .exe downloads" at the end of your post? How did you "unlock" the downloads for Windows? If it's giving a Win32 error, I suggest going back to where ever you downloaded it previously and find a 32-bit version, it should give you a clue which is 32-bit and which is 64-bit - - - you want the 32-bit version. Try right-clicking on your .exe and selecting "Run as Administrator" as well, this may give avail. |

Re: Firefox downloads won't work
The two references are the same and refer to files such as game demo/spywareblaster4/free firewall.
Also to unlock the file opposite clicking > properties > bottom of properties it will say something like "this file came from another computer and might contain unsafe content" And next to this there's a button to unlock the file. Also the files I got were for windows xp 32 bit. (I'm very sure) Thanks for the help
